I have just purchased a second screen to use with my 20" Intel iMac in extended desktop mode. This will give me 42 inches of combined screen space, which should be especially useful when working between dreamweaver, photoshop, multiple browsers and ftp etc.
Atfer reading loads of reviews I went for the Dell ST2210 LCD. This is a 21.5" full DC screen. Having just got this setup I am very impressed. Looks good against the white iMac.
I purchased the screen from
ebuyer for £120 which seemed to be a good deal. All I needed then was a couple of cables to conntect the iMac to my new screen. Both calbes were purchased from
play.com. I ordered a
mini dvi to dvi convertor that plugs into the imac and then a
dvi to dvi cable which plugs into the dell screen and into the mac convertor.
Both cables are made by Fisual and are a good bit cheaper that Apples equivelant cables. On delivery I was sent the mini dvi to dvi convertor and a dvi to hdmi cable. Lucky this wasn't an issue as the Dell ST2210 is a fully HD screen with an hdmi output.
