Interesting way of making Internet Explorer perform more like the browser should out of the box from google.

Google Chrome Frame installs on Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8 giving the browsers some of the abilities of Google Chrome to Microsofts browser.

What google are saying about this project:
"Google Chrome Frame is an early-stage open source plug-in that seamlessly brings Google Chrome's open web technologies and speedy JavaScript engine to Internet Explorer. With Google Chrome Frame, you can:

  • Start using open web technologies - like the HTML5 canvas tag - right away, even technologies that aren't yet supported in Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8.
  • Take advantage of JavaScript performance improvements to make your apps faster and more responsive."
At the moment Google are recommending this tool for developers and testing as it is just at an early development stage. Looks like an interesting project to keep your eye on though.

You can read more about the Google Chrome Frame project on the Chromium Blog.

The Telegraph have described Google Frame as a stealth attack on Internet Explorer.

I would say that anything that makes IE better is a god thing in my opinion. The main thing that appeals to fusionburn is the ability to be able to direct Internet Explorer users to install the Chrome Frame plugin if they are not already using it. The more users using modified versions of IE or not using at all the better for the web in general.
